Community Living Burlington provides services and support to approximately 350 children and adults who have a developmental disability in the Burlington community.
CLB provides a wide range of services including:
- Residential settings (including 20 homes for adults, 3 townhouses for adults, 3 homes for children and 20 apartments in a seniors building);
- Day Programs for adults (including ARC Industries, Life Skills, Passages Program and Employment Services; Preschool Integration Services;
- Family Support;
- Public Education and Advocacy
CLB receives funding from:
- Ministry of Community and Social Services;
- United Way of Burlington, Hamilton-Wentworth;
- ARC Industries Contract Sales;
- Ontario Disability Support Program;
- Service User Fees;
- Donations
CLB is governed by various pieces of provincial legislation from the Ministry of Community and Social Services, and by legislation and by-laws from the Region of Halton and the City of Burlington. Some of this legislation includes:
- Child & Family Services Act;
- Developmental Services Act;
- Ontario Building Code;
- Ontario Fire Code
CLB endeavors to achieve its mission with the support and assistance of the following groups:
- Members of the Association;
- Families who receive service;
- Local schools, businesses, Service Clubs;
- and the general public
CLB is a member of OASIS (Ontario Agencies Supporting Individuals with Special Needs) and Community Living Ontario.
