Pre-Employment Services
Ways to Shine is an
exciting new pre-employment program for people who have a developmental
disability and who are interested in developing their soft skills and
work experience in their community. This program is funded by a grant
received from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Ways to Shine,
pre-employment program has two components. The in-class component
consists of classes two mornings each week which run from the beginning
of September to the end of May. The classes are run in partnership with
the Halton District Catholic School Board and are geared to assist
people to build on their essential skills for work.
The placement component assists people to find a suitable unpaid work placement in the community that could possibly result in employment and/or successful completion of their employment goals. These placements are individualized to each participant based on their skills, abilities and interests.
